very WEIRD sound from my 9 bolt
ok guys... here's the situation..
i'm cruising down a city street(30mph) and i'm preparing to make a right turn... i engage the clutch and put the car in neutral and immediately there is a subtle "pop" followed by the sound of a spring unwinding(if you've ever worked with a rope starter for mower or wead eater, those starters have a spring inside them that pulls the rope back into the recoil... if that spring pops out, it makes a pretty distinct sound)... it was similar to that kind of a spring sound and it went on for about 6-10 seconds...
very strange, the car still drives and i only heard the sound once
it's an '89 IROC with a 9 bolt... original rear with 85K miles on it
i know it's a vague description.. but i'm hoping that i'm not the first person this strange sound has happened to
it really just came from the rear of the car.. so i guess it could have been my fuel pump freaking out on me? but i'm quite sure it's either the fuel pump or rear end... nothing else back there could make that noise...
thx for the help
