Throwout bearing grease question.
Is it possible to grease it while the tranny is still in the car?
Thanks.

I’m sorry. I wasn’t clear on what I meant. I was asking about the shaft the TOB rides on and the clutch fingers.
I always thought that the TOB needed high temp grease where ever metal to metal contact was involved.
The reason why I ask this is because I went through a small lake a few moths ago and ever since then, little problems have been adding up.
After driving for a mile or so, the TOB makes a squealing noise like a loose belt. It’s most noticeable while stopped, in neutral and the clutch engaged. Disengaged, it makes no noise. I’ve had the chirping TOB before but this is new to me.
There’s also more peddle effort.
Not even where the fork goes into the housing?

For another you cant even see the throwout bearing unless you take the trans out.

maybe if you take the shift fork cover off you could get a small tube up there, but it might be ineffective

yeah, i highly doubt just greasing the forks for the throwout bearing is going to help any. Throwout bearings seem to die after being submurged in water....so i'd say thats your problem.
