Anyone installed their own gears?
I'll be installing a posi and 4.10's in my 10-bolt in a few weeks.
Does anyone have either a step-by-step guide or some kind of write-up on the internet? Any hints/pointers welcome. Also, what tools will I need?

Axle/Gears: AMG Limited Slip
Aside from a torque wrench and other common tools you will need a pinion depth guage to set up the pinion shim and a micrometer setup to measure and set up ring gear backlash.
Sorry dont know of a step by step online, I use GM factory training manuals.

i think tta would be more sucessful setting back lash with a dial indicator than a mic. have you tried doing a search here. i think there was one other poster asked this before and got several good responses.
