Lockup switch give better times?
Lockup switch give better times?
Assuming I have an aftermarket tq converter like a vigilante or yank will locking the converter give me better et's at the track? I've heard 3 different stories. One is that leaving it unlocked will allow the engine to spin up faster giving better times and also put less stress on the converter. Another is that locking it will bog the engine down and cause you to go slower. The third is that locking it will provide a direct drive like a manual and give you more trap speed and a couple tenths. Which is true? Is it a good idea to lock the converter at the track?
