Hey guys, just finished the differential install and I spun the tire and it spun the opposite direction, isn't posi gonna spin them both in the same direction?

Put a little force on the tire that is rotating in the opposite direction and it should reverse its motion. Or just do a and look for the dual marks.

As long as it is normal, thats fine with me, i'd do the burnout test but the car has no motor .

Torsens are bizarre. They are not a Posi. It is normal for the wheels to rotate in opposite directions when the wheels are off the ground and then you rotate one wheel.

Things change totally when load is applied to the wheels.

This is why I chose the eaton over the torsen. It takes load to get it to spin both wheels, which in turn would put more stress on the unit and allow for a slight, I say slight bit more wheel spin since all of this is happening in a split second.

Well, all I can say is im just happy I got posi. Won't ever have to worry about replacing clutches either. Its a street car so I don't mind the split second delay.

Yeah, what pasky said! I'm curious too Chickenman, as I've never had the zexel-torsen unit. What weird things does it do in the rain???

No weird things at all....it's beautiful. Incredible traction when going around corners. Back end doesn't slide all over the place like a Posi or LSD.

Cornering in the wet... put the power down, tail comes out a a little...then she bites and off you go. It's just MAGIC!!!

Edit: Sarcasm was just that being in Texas, Pasky may never experience how GREAT a Torsen is in the rain.

Cool, thanks for the info Chickenman! I may have to think even harder about getting one of those cheap take off units. I have an auburn right now, but I don't expect it to live forever.

I have the HD torsen and even in the wet I need to becareful. It is a touch better then my Nova (which has a clutch posi). I'm not sure if it is because it is the HD version but it acts very much like my Novas posi. Except when you have the wheels off the ground and spin one tire the other one does nothing, just sits there.

Question, ok I got the lid just bolted on right now, no sealant or anything because I havn't put the gear lube in yet, I see the fill plug on the inside of the cover but there is no opening on the outside of the cover, how can I refill it while the rear end is still in the car? Thanks.

I really can't tell you because my car is engineless at the moment, I got my LT1 right in front of it but need a new cherry picker jack. Im using 3.42's. I don't want to go any higher.

3.73's would work dandy. Ratech makes an excellant install kit.
