is this a good deal???

a person i knwo that works at a Napa in my town just sold and installed a set of 4.10 gears to someone with a 86 Camaro that had 3.42 gears stock. he got the gears and they look to be in good shape. he said he would sell them to me for $50 as he has no need for chevy gears(ford guy) thing is my car should have a series 2 carrier and this would be for a serise 3 carrier correct. also id like to add posi but i do eventually plan to get a 12 bolt for the car but that will be about two years down the road. does slp still have the Posi units for $100?

I'd have to see the gears to know if that's a good deal. If they're no good, they'd be a bad deal for $5.

You can get a spacer to mount a normal 3-series gear in the wrong carrier. See http://www.drivetrainspecialists.com...=28&cat=GM+7.5

Ask SLP about their carrier. Don't bother asking here. People here saying you can get one from them won't get you a carrier, and people here saying you can't get one won't keep them from selling you one if you pay for it and they have them.

checked out slp's site and they still list them so hopefully they will still have them listed in two weeks when i hav ethe money for them. the gears dont look to have any abnormal wear on them they look to be in good shape

if the gears look to be good, its not a bad deal.look at what some of the retards pay for on ebay, and youre not paying 25 for shipping either.

talked the guy into 125 for a bunch of stuff so essentially i got the gears for 25$. woot. im so happy. i cant wait to get these in in the spring.they are in excelent condition. its nice to know people who hate chevy. they sell chevy parts they could make alot of money on extreamly cheap.
