V6 T5 in a third gen
Hi im new here and i got a quick q about trannys. I have a world class t5 out of a 1996 fourth gen camaro that i would like to use in my 86 roc, will this bolt up? It's a brand new tranny and i want to use it with a L98 out of a 89 iroc. any ideas?

This is going to be your biggest problem...
I'm pretty sure search words have to be at least three characters long.
That said, Shifty's right. V6 T5s can be used behind V8s with the proper bellhousing/clutch/input shaft. Actually, you don't have a choice about the bellhousing. You have to use the right one to get it to bolt up. As far as the clutch and/or input shafts go, there are two ways to go. You can keep the V6 input shaft and run the smaller V6 clutch disc with a V8 pressure plate...
or
You can switch the input shaft and be able to use the correct size V8 clutch disc with your V8 pressure plate.
This is going to be your biggest problem...

Thanks guys, i figured it wasn't a direct bolt in. the only reason i asked is that it is a 0 mile unit and im worried about the durability of the T5 (especially a used one) behind the mild build L98 im putting in my car this summer.
