Car dies in reverse/drive????
I just put in a new holley 670 avenger and it runs fine in park but when i put it in reverse or drive it dies it runs fine in neutral too. I dont know what the hell its problem is. I'm only using 2 of the vacuum ports for the brakes and somthing else dont know what it is. the kickdown cable is not connected. But i just cant figure it out and im getting pretty pissed that its acting so retarded so i could use some help???
Oh yea i think its related to the fact i took off the pcv thing and plugged the tube with a bolt??

If you still have a 700R4 that isn't a kickdown cable! It's a TV (throttle valve) cable, and not having it connected and properly set can ruin the trans. This is FYI and a seperate issue from the stalling problem.
Sounds like the carb isn't compensating for the added load when the trans is in gear. What is your idle set at?
Not having the PCV valve will just cause the engine to puke oil out of the breather or various oil seals. I don't think that's your problem.

Well the car hasn't moved since i put on the carb on and i bought the bracket and stud to fix the tv cable problem. It idles at about 1500 in park other than that its never run in gear. I thought it might be some kind of vacuum problem i took off all the vapor cannister connections even though most of the connections were off anyways and the big vacuum regulator that used to sit by the thermostat housing. there is one vacuum connection that i dont know what it is it goes behind the motor and i cant find out where it goes?
also theres a tube with 2 ports coming out of the intake manifold next to the thermostat housing i plugged them??

Is this a stock intake or an aftermarket one?
