i just got home from a military deployment, and was driving around today when all of a sudden i start hearing this noise that sounds like a loose exhaust hanger, or a pipe dragging intermittently. i pulled over to see if that was the problem and everything was/is tight. then i notice it was doing it in "park" also. as i listened to it some more, it sounded like there was a loose bolt and/or nut kinda' clanging around, but not consistent. also noticed when i went in to reverse, it didn't want to roll, like i was on the brake. then with a little push with my foot out the door it would roll. tried it again, no push necessary. tried it again, push required. the sound seems to come right from the tunnel area, like at the point of the flex plate and/or converter. i haven't had the time to pull the dust cover or tranny pan yet, but was thinking maybe the converter crapped out? i didn't get stranded, was able to drive it home. starting out from a dead stop, the noise was heard, but not when the car got up to speed. however, when i tried to accelerate, the car acted like it was bogging down, especially if i tried to get on it enough to kick in passing gear - little to no response, other than bogging down. the past couple of days, the car has driven fine. this stock tranny rebuild has about 30k miles on it, and rear-end rebuild has about 15-18k miles. i'm thinking it might be the converter, but... expert opinion, please? i plan to pull the pan and dust cover tomorrow, so maybe that'll shed some light, but hopefully someone can help me figure it out in the meantime. sorry so long, thanks for looking...

only a couple of more things to add... this is a '91 with a 700-R4 trans and also that it made no noise when driving at "normal" speed...
