th350 shift points
I just had a th350 put in and it shifts great but at wot it shifts at 6000-6500rpm (not good) I want the trans to shift at 4500-5000rpm. Do I need to buy new weights for the governer of can I use the ones in there. Also will the adj vacuum modulator be able to do this or is it too great a difference?

First off, get yourself a "red stripe" vacuum modulator. There are 4 kinds for 350s: pink stripe; green stripe; red stripe, and big black can. You don't want any of the other types, ONLY THE RED STRIPE. Don't worry about what it's listed in the book for, or anything else; just open boxes until you find the one that has a red stripe, and use it. Typically you'll find that one listed for "good runners" like 70-72 400 4-barrel Caprice, stuff like that. But like I said, look through the books at all the modulators that fit PG, 400 or 350; get all 4 part #; and open boxes until you find the one with a red stripe. Not green, not purplish-pink. Nothing else matters except for the color of the stripe.
There's a little screw up inside where the hose goes, that adjusts its spring tension. Just adjust it until it shifts like you want. Turn it CW for later harder shifts, CCW for earlier softer shifts.
Now for the quick quiz to test your memory retention: what color stripe are you going to look for?
