anyone know the actuall length of a short tail th350 driveshaft?
i need to know how long a driveshaft for a th350 short tail trans will be in my 3rd gen. ive got a few driveshafts and just dont remember what one i pulled from the 82 camaro i parted out. im doing a th350 swap and dont want to go put all new U-joints in the driveshafts untill i find the right one and i havent got the trans in the car yet either and if i cant find the right one ill atleast have some time to have a driveshaft made.

I don't know the length of the driveshaft, but if your '82 had a TH200C, then it's a direct fit to the TH-350. (Research driveshaft length for '82-'83 w/TH200C)

A Caprice with 700-R4 & 8.5" rear end has a driveshaft 2.92" shorter than one with a 200-4R & 8.5" rear end. A 200-4R & th350 use the same shaft. (2.92" longer than an 84-92 driveshaft is the answer to your question)

Nice post under 2 weeks old with all questions answerd in detail. Search.https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=225290
"No problem. It's 51in from the end of the yoke to the end of the yoke. This should be a good measurement for a competent driveline shop but if not the shaft is 46 3/4, center of U-joint cap to center cap is 49 1/2 (this is the measurment most shops use)and the complete driveshaft ready to install should be 56 1/2in."
