Engine over-revving with 700-R4?

I really hope someone can answer my quesition because I've been posting this for a while with no response and it is getting to be more of an issue as days pass, but here goes, with a little more info to help you-

Engine rpms are about 250 too high for any case- cruising, WOT (shifts at around 5200 rpms under full throttle with the 5k redline and is around 2000 rpms at 60 mph when it used to cruise at 1650 at 60)

2nd to 3rd WOT shift occurs at around 55 mph, but putting the trans in "2" lets the car get up to 63 mph in second at the same RPM (note- I tried this while "easing" the car up to redline, not going WOT)

Could this be a torque converter problem or does this sound like something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I thank any who read this and reply.

Could be that the TCC wore out and now it slips at highway speed under load. At WOT, the torque converter will allow for some relative speed between the engine and the trans so the rpms come up a bit when it stalls under load. Could also be that the tach is on its way out and getting to be inacurate.

Sounds like your tach is off, reads high, the way these always do.
