Tranny rebuilt and now no OD
Tranny rebuilt and now no OD
I had a guy I work with rebuild my tranny and now it has no OD. I have done a search but could't find much. It shifts through 1,2,3 and the convertor locks in 3rd (this is what the guy keeps on telling me is OD but at 70 with 2.73 gears its running at 2750 RPMs) with no problems but when it in od it won't shift. If i let off of the gas it will let the RPMs go down to 1200 or so at 70 and when I push the gas again its like it slips until 3 gear reengauges. I have replaced the TV cable and adjusted that. is there anything in the shift linkage or anything else that could effect it. Is there some simple things that could have been overlooked? Basically I'm on my own because he thinks its working right and now I have a feeling that Im going to have to take it in somewhere else to be looked at. Thanks in advance for any help

Check the 4th apply servo. First disk under the servo cover and the servo cover. Maybe a seal folded or it is in backwards.
The 4th apply servo is what is used to engage the 2/4 band for 4th.
If it isn't that then time to check the valve body. Was it torn down at all? Maybe a valve was installed incorrectly.
RBob.

It was torn down completly. I forgot the plate in the vlavle body also needed to be replaced, the checkballs had put some very bad wear on it. Im probably going to take it to a shop around here as i don't have the space to check. thanks
