with tranny mount unbolted, put a jack under the tail of the tranny, and lift it a little, this will tilt the motor enough so it can easily be removed from the top

I prefer the method ede mentioned much better than trying to reach it from the top. I have a 3/8 extension that's about 3 ft. long with a wobbly tip. I use that along with a universal joint and a short six point socket. Then I use a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter so I can get it nice and tight using a bigger ratchet. That extension I got is the best tool I've ever had for getting to tranny bolts. When you combine the wobbly tip along with a universal joint, you have plenty of flexibility to get on the bolt from almost any angle. If you have your crossmember out of the way, you can also lower the tranny down some with a floor jack to give you a little more room and a better angle. The only way I could ever get them out from the top was using a wrench, which takes way too much time!

Bah you dont need it. Theres so much redundency in bolts on cars. 5 lugs. One to hold the wheel on and 4 just in case. Same deal with the trans hehe.
