well, after i had my T-5 out of my car for the 7th time, my shop teacher at school handed me a printout from one of his manuals saying that a T-5 needs automatic dextron-3 tranny fluid. its stated that regular manual tranmission fluid could ruin the seals

I figured that I may as well match the fluid with the shift kit.

Just plain old Type F in my TH400 here - it's cheap and works great.

GM Syncromesh. That is Tremec's recommendation for the TKO.

I believe all automatics in '82-'92 took Dexron II from the factory (which has since been superceded by Dexron III)...

Mobilfluid424 high torque tractor hydroulic fluid in my t-braked TH400 and any other cars I own that I have changed the trans fluid on.

Excellent as an automatic trans fluid with better properties than most all other fluids but the best part about it is it doesnt seem to burn, which is very important to me scince I sit on the brake stalled at 4200 rpm(@20psi). Plus at around $50/5 gal pail it works out to around $2.50 a quart.
