I found this for sale here on the island and was wondering if it is a good deal or should i look for a newer posi rear end with disc brakes?

90 I-Roc T-top Posi rearend w/ drum brakes 2.73 gears. $250.00

The owner doesn't know how many miles but says it in good shape with a little surface rust from sitting.

Also will it fit my 92 RS?

No it is not a good deal.

You already have the exact same rear, except that that one has a posi carrier. $250 is too much to pay for a 2-series posi carrier.

 

i got the new super chevy and they have an artical on hopping up the GM 7.5 10 bolt. turns out they can handle over 400 RWHP when properly built and it costs less then the cheapest moser 12 bolt. go figure... just get a power locker and some gears from jegs or summit if you want posi and better gears. or go to a shop and get those 2 plus a rebuild with some new bearings. in the mag, they went from 2.73 open rear to a 3.42 auburn posi with aftermarket axels, TA diff plate and something else. parts were about 900 (which will be less because your not getting the axels) and the labor to rebuild the whole rear was 300. at the moment, im also looking for a shop in the NE area that can rebuild my 9 bolt so i can swap it into my car
