B&M Shift Kit vs. Vette servo

I did a search on the B&M shift kit and Vette servo and found mixed ideas. What I'm looking for is a fix that will help all of my shifts be firmer for cheap. I know that ideally I would get the transgo shift kit but can't right now. I saw a sort of custom combo idea for the shift kit that I would consider. Which of the two would you suggest to help me get what I'm looking for?

The corvette servo worked well for me. I have never heard anything good about the B&M shift kit. Go with the Transgo.

I have both in my 700R4 that used to be in the 90, and I ran 12.8 on it. The BM shift kit is good I never had any problems with it. Now I have that same tranny in my 89 RS daily driver and it shifts super hard. With the vette servo AND shift kit it peels the tire (right side only LOL) everytime it goes into second no matter how soft you drive it. The shift kit took a while to install but it is do-able. The servo was like 20 bucks from dana at probuilt and it took like 10 minutes to put on and it made a Huge difference over stock. I say get that first man.

The reason the B&M shift made the 1-2 part throttle shifts hard is the lack of accumulation. Add the Vette servo to start with & see what happens. Stay away from B&M valve body kits. If you are down on money, you can take the Trans-Go Junior Shift kit & modify it to work better than any B&M setup for the street, you might want to change to larger boost valves when you do this. Let me know if I can be of help?

I've had the B&M kit for years. Yep, the 1-2 shift is hard and you gotta be careful on wet roads. Never tried the vette servo so I can compare.

I've got both in my tranny. I had them both installed at the same time, so i'm not sure what they would have felt like individually. I know that the B&M shift kit is awesome. My tranny shifts very hard from 1-2 and fairly hard from 2-3. I reccomend both. That probably doesn't help your poll though.

I've never heard of the transgo junior before. How much does that cost.

BTW pro built, every time I try to go to your site I get redirected to popnav.com. Is this just my computer or has your site been effected by it? It won't get off my computer

Are you going to www.pro-built.net ? The Trans-Go Shift kit Junior (modified to HD specs) with both boost valves (.500 main & .296 intermediate/reverse) & Corvette servo sells for about $77.00.

I have been using the B&M for years as well and never had a complaint or problem. In fact I know quite a few people who use the B&M and non of them ahve had any complaints either.

Ive had the B&M kit for over two years. Ive had no problems with it and love the firm shifts. I was wondering what kind of improvments will I see with a corvette servo?

Does anyone know if the vette servo will help with the 2-->3 shift at all? I have a B&M stage 2 shift kit and it hits hard from 1st to 2nd but not 2nd to 3rd. I'm trying to firm up the 2 to 3 shift without removing the tranny........

It will help the 2-3 shift, but it will make the 1-2 firmer yet.

I have also had the b&m kit for a while and I don't have any complaints about it. I was told right after I installed it by someone on TGO that it was a huge mistake and that it would destroy my transmission eventually... but I have heard countless people tell me otherwise. I usually hear good reviews of the b&m.

As for the vette servo, I have not used it personally. But I can give you a on the b&m.
