my 89 GTA 305 TPI, now 96 LT1 with T%.. the tranny is 89 tranny and it mounts up the same.. why is it tilted to the side? are they supposed to be slightly tilted ? I know i have it mounted right.. same on lt1 as 305.. and you can't exactly screw it up ...

 

yeah, the t5 mounts up tilted something like 17* towards the driver.

I wouldn't go jumping to hasty conclusions like that based on just that one piece of evidence....

Btu seriously, the trans is rotated toward the driver in these cars; that's one of the things that makes them a bit of a challenge to do a swap in them.

 

swap was easy.. pull tranny then engine.. wiring up my LT1.. that'll be a challenge
