need help with this t-56 and gear ratios

need help with this t-56 and gear ratios

i am looking at this 6 speed transmission t-56 out of the serial numbers i went on tremecs website and got the gear ratios here
here is the numbers on the trasmission tag so i guess its this model here are the numbers check to see if i am right 10236021 F1832 1386-007 E 14504

ok now is this the gear ratio everyone says is for the 94 and up camaro i want to get the best gas mileage possible in 6th gear if so can ayone give me a list of model numbers for the best gas mileage....now i hear its .5 for the overddrive??? 6th gear right? here is where i got the information..... anyones help would be greatly appreciated

that is the 1993 t56.

the 94 and up has shallower gearing with the higher overdirvie of .50

that one listed is also a G92 tranny as opposed to the standard one for 93.

half way down the page has the info your interested in.

also a note 93 trannys are usually cheaper then 94-97 as per the gearing and torque ratings are only to 400 in 93 and 450 in 94-97.

but as said above if you rlooking for best mileage ... 94-97 with .5 6th gears lets you run 4.10's no problem

would 500 be too much for this tranny??? can i install a .5 final gear ratio if i buy the new 6th gear?

no clue on changing gears ........


as for it surviving behind 500 horse .... someone with experince would probably better to answer that.

well I don't know about your area but 94-97 T-56's are usually between 2000-2500 CAN$ but 93 go for under 1K

so it depends, 500 bucks sounds like a good deal.
