I have a 4 speed saginaw. This morning sometimes shifting from 1st to 2nd, i would pull down into 2nd and it wouldnt engage, so I just went to third. Got to work, and put on the parking brake and put it in 2nd and turned the car off. When i got back in the car, in pushed the clutch in and tried to go into neutral and the car is stuck in 2nd, but from the shifter position it looks like its between gears. I can take off from 2ns but still cant shift. Any Ideas??? Thanks

Sounds to me like your syncro went out and jammed the shift ring together on the second gear. I don't know how to fix it tho.

i am having this problem from 2nd to 3rd...looks like if i shift too fast it doesnt put 2nd into neutral before i try going into third...i have to go under the car and push one of the tabs on the trans back to the rest position and then all is well....im on here trying to see how i can fix this from happening again

i had this problem with 1st and 2nd.then it stoped letting me into 1st. Then it got stuck into 4th gear. what happened in mine was that there are retainer rings that hold together the synchronizer assembelies. one of mine broke lose and wedged itselve between my 1st and 2nd gears. this really gave me trouble with shifting into all gears.
