Tranny Break-in

The '91 Z28 that I'm buying today has a freshly rebuilt 700R4. The old owner says that there's about 120 miles on the rebuild. Is there any kind of break-in process that I need to go through? Should I change out the fluid? I suppose it means I have to take it easy on the gas once I get it, no stoplight racing How long do i have to behave??

Thanks!

You should be able to drive it however you want at this point. You may want to change the fluid out in a few more miles just to make sure there's no crap in it from the rebuild. Maybe at 500 miles or so.

Thanks!

As I was driving it home, I noticed it was shifting REALLY early. Steady Pedal, I was in 4th by about 30 MPH. The tach doesn't work, but it felt like it shifted into 2nd at about 2500 RPM or less. Is this a normal thing? Is there a vac advance that I need to adjust or anything?
