TCC lockup switch - I read the tech article

I read the tech article about wiring a manual switch to control whether the TCC will be controlled by the computer vs. not locked up at all. Anyway, it cautioned that installing/using the switch is hard on the tranny and torque converter. I just want to check that the harm is actually when you leave the switch in a status where the TCC is not locking up, when you're cruising on the freeway. The tranny and torque converter will heat up a lot faster and it's probably dangerous to drive long distances. If this is the case, I understand this.

Will just using the switch or installing it (permanently) cause harm? I know that excessive use of the switch so the tcc is constantly locking/unlocking is bad also. I only plan on using it when going onto freeways so it doesn't lockup until I get up to a certain speed. I don't see how using the switch and/or installing it might cause harm to my drivetrain... Can anyone clarify?

The TCC is a tiny little thing that was designed to be locked up when maintaining speed. WOT acceleration with it locked up will probably burn it up much faster than a few locking/unlocking cycles.

Oh yeah, one more question. I bought and installed the TCI-lock-up delay harness already. It has helped but only a little. My tcc still locks up before I want it to while accelerating onto freeways. Is there a way to modify this delay harness to have it delay it even longer? Or should I just go ahead and install a switch.

Any help you guys can provide would be great.
