tranny swap with new torque converter

I will be swapping my tranny this weekend to put a rebuilt one in with a new torque converter, are you supposed to put any fluid in the converter before installing it? Or do you just put it on dry and add fluid after the tranny is in. About how much t.fluid will it take? Also I have read that the rear of the car needs to be off of the ground, is this true in all cases or if I get the front high enough should I be able to do it? Any help would be great !
This is a 90 GTA , 700r4.

Thanks

I don't know if you are supposed to put any in the torque convertor or not but I always do . It sure can't hurt ......

I just put in my freshly rebuilt tranny and my trans guy said to put a quart in the torque converter and make sure to lube the tail shaft and the converter hub. -John
