'creak' noise coming from rear, shifting to D from P

some idiot drove my friends car and tried to do a burnout by revving the engine in N and dropping it into D!

well the car still drives fine, but when you shift from P or N into D or any forward gear (OD, 1, 2) it makes sort of a creaking noise. its just a quick creak noise and it goes away. no other symptoms. and that is the only time it makes the noise.

any help?
Thanks,
Rick

my formula did that, it is the brakes, when the tranny goes into gear it jerks the drivetrain really quick and the brakes move slightly. even with new pads mine did it. everytime I would put my car is gear in my gravel driveway I would get a nice rut
