2 series posi into a 3 series carrier

I have a 83 T/A with an open 3.73 rear. I can pick up a 2.73 Posi for dirt cheap. Is it possible to swap the posi into the 3 series carrier? I want to keep the 3.73's but not the peg leg

I don't think so, but I don't know anything about it... BUT, I'd much rather have 373 open than 273 posi. You're going to hurt your 1/4 by about 4-5 tenths with 273s.

I have 273 open and it's horrible.

haha im gonna have to second that one, 2.73's kill ur times. Take my word for it. (see sig.)

Just go to an autowrecking yard and get a posi unit for a 3 series carrier, it'll be way cheaper than getting a completly different rear-end anyways.
