2 series or 3?

how can i tell if my rear end is a 2 series or a 3 series ?

Car: '86 Z28
Engine: LB9 (305 TPI)
Transmission: 700R4 w/kit
If your gears are 3.23 or numerically above you have a 3 series carrier, anything below you have a 2 series.

There is always the possibility that a previous owner had a 2 series carrier and just bought 3.23 or higher gears made for a 2 series... doubtful though.

the dealership told me i had 3.08 so i gues its a 2 seires. thanks for the info
