I just changed my tranny fluid and filter, put a new gasket on and sealant. Filled the tranny and I look under my car, it is leaking, slow drip in the back on the crossmember. Could I have done something wrong? Overfill? I really dont want to start all over again. Its such a hassle.

The most likely culprit is a leaking pan gasket. They can be a pain to get to seal right. If you made it to tight or not tight enuf it can leak.

So I may have overtightened it, Should I just loosen the bolts up and go in a diagonal pattern and not tighten them up as much, or will I have to get a new gasket? Also my gasket sealant says that it takes 3 hours to dry, I suppose I got the wrong kind?

Sometimes when you overtighten youll rip the gasket. What kind of gasket was it?

It was a rubber gasket, I may have used too much sealant on some parts and it didnt sit right. I'm going to get another gasket and do it again. Napa carries the cork/ rubber combo, at least thats what the guy said on the phone. Should I use sealant again?

I used the rubber gasket from napa. I put it on dry and havnt had any problems with it leaking. Ive found its easier to put bolts in a little on the loose side and then tighten them up some if you see any leaks. Of course ideally you should use a torque wrench but after awhile you get a feel for it.
