i have a 84 camaro with a 350 in it and last week my trans started not wanting to shift into 2nd gear and when u hit the gas it feels like it goes into neutral its an auto with a shift kit if i rev it up to about 4500 and tap the gas it switches and its fine then until it shifts back into 1st im not getting no power in 1st from 1000rpms and up and it wont switch the fluid is red which is a good sign full any ideas what it could be ?

 

what trans? might be the tv cable, if it has one. might be the modulator if it has one. might be the trans is shot.

 

im not sure on the tranny i think its the stock with a shift kit but it was rebuilt about 2 years ago now its acting up but since the fluid is red still that would mean its not shot right?

 

The trans can still be shot and have red fluid. Just depends whats broken.

 

Find out what transmission you have exactly?
