chevy truck trans ?'s

Anyone know if a T-5 or a 700r4 from a thirdgen will fit in a 93 chevy 1/2 ton 2wd truck with a 4.3 v6? I've got a truck with a bad transmission (getrag 5 speed) and I just want to get this thing running. I know these trucks were available with a 4L60E and I've got a good 700r4. Are these tranny's interchangeable? I'd probably need an auto computer and a trans cooler if I swapped from manual to auto but it may be the cheapest quickest solution for me. Any ideas?

A 700R4 would work you would only have to change the gear selector peice from cable to linkage if you used a stock coulmb shift type B&M or any other AM peices would be cable.
If you tried to swap in a T5 the shifter would sit too far under the dash to be useable.

The 700R4 would be your best bet. You won't need a computer with that trans. The only thing the ECM controls is the TCC & that can be gotten around with an aftermarket control kit.
