Do I really need a beefier tranny?
I was at my local speed shop the other day, and the salesman tried talking me into a B&M transpak kit. Its a kit that includes everything to strengthen yoour tranny. I have a 355 Chevy V8 that is cranking out about 380 horse and he said that this kind of power would rip apart a stock 3 speed trannny. Also, he said that if you blow up your tranny, your torque converter will also go with it. Are both of these things true? Please help.

The B&M shift kits don't have a real good history with 700r4's. But then again, you aren't using a 700r4.
I'd go with a TransGo kit over a B&M kit any day.
