leak

I have a serious problem with my transmission(700)....it leaks from the from seal and i have tried a few things already. i was told that i should also replace the torque converter when i replaced the seal and drill a bigger return hole in the pump....do i really have to do those things??? or am i missing something else?

nevermind, it is the torque converter that is the problem, but it isn't necessary to drill the pump drain hole any bigger on '84 and up trannies....just so that you have that info...
