new clutch vibrates??
Hey guysI just had my trans re-done and I decided to take out my stock replacement clutch that had 1 thousand miles on it and put in a Hayes performance clutch instead. Well the stock clutch was fine with no vibrations at all. But the hayes has a nice vibration up around maybe 3000rpm and up. The flywheel is stock that has been resurfaced 7500 miles ago and has has 2 Pepboys Luk stock clutches on it but both weren;t worn down. Just changed the first one caus ei swaped motors and the secound one cause i wunted sumtin with more bite. So what could cause this?? do you think it is the flywheel??

OK good; clutch bolts are special bolts, regular ones or even grade 8 ones that aren't clutch bolts, won't work right. They have a little shoulder behind the threads to make a sort of dowel pin system to center the clutch on the flywheel.
When you put it on, did you tighten each bolt up a little as you went, i.e. not just tighten one all the way, then tighten another, etc.?
You may want to just try rotating the clutch 180° (3 bolt holes) on the flywheel.

Unfortunately there's no definate fix for a viberation problem though. It could be out of balance like rb83l69 said, or the flywheel needs to be machined. In a perfect world, the flywheel should be machined with each clutch. When you had it machined recently, did they take to much material off? If they did, it makes it much more susceptable to heat warpage.
Did you mark the driveshaft when you pulled it down, and reinstall it the same way? The driveshaft metal molecules "balance" themselves out a certain way as they spin. They are also balanced and installed a certain way from the factory. If you didn't mark it, Maybe try flipping that 180 deg. before you pull the trans again.
Or check and make sure you didn't loose any weights off the shaft when you pulled it down, or that the tube doesn't have any dents or gouges in it.
