Clutch pedal loose ????

Didn't know where to best post this question but here it goes. Has any one had a severely loose clutch pedal? mine is loose side to side. I was planning on getting new bushings and spacer, my question is is there any thing else to look out for and has anyone changed them before? The car just turned 64,000 [I just bought the car but the mileage is documented] seems strange that they would already be worn out ? my S10 went 178,000 on the original clutch with me and the wife both driving it, and the pedal wasn't half as sloppy??

The mileage could be as it's easy to keep a car looking "new" with bolt on parts.

The sleeve is steel; the bushings are plastic. You probably just need the bushings.

There's 2 plastic bushings that it rides on; sounds like those are dead.

You can get them in the "Help" stuff at places that carry that, like Auto Zone and Advance and even some of the "real" parts stores. They're not too hard to replace, if you're used to working under the dash.

The mileage is not bs I have documented mileage from new I am the 3rd owner and only the 2nd owner since 1987. everything is in order . I am going to see if the bushings help and I'm going to also replace the spacer and bolt. Hope thats it. OH ya I have plenty of under dash time under my belt. Thanks
