Transmissions and Drivetrain Need help with your trans? Problems with your axle?

will go in to gear but wont engage.

Engine: Three SLow Five. LO3
Transmission: MAN 5 SPD B0RG WARNER, 77MM, 2.95
will go in to gear but wont engage.

So my car will shift into gear but it willnot engage. what the hell is goin on. im goin crazy tryin to figure it out.

it will go into the gear pocket but the car doesnt attempt to move

Is this the 5-spd in your user profile?

If so, it probably needs a clutch.

What's the history of this? I'm guessing that there's more to it, i.e. you didn't park the car one night after getting home from work, everything was completely normal, and when you went out to start it in the morning it was suddenly this way. I could be wrong though, it's happened to me before.

Probably need a new clutch. If it was an adjustment issue it would be grinding when you try to engage the trans in gear. You haven't noticed any slipping or anything before it quit on you?
