I recently started having problems with my tranny. I was drive my car and all of the sudden the rpm's shot up to 5,500, that is when I left off the gas. I pulled off to the side of the road and shut off the car and then I restarted it. I pulled back on to the road and dropped it into first gear, switched into second gear at 3,500. I then switched from 2 gear to drive. That is when it just reved up. When I have the car in either drive or overdrive it acts like it is in neutral. Does anyone have any ideas why my transmission is acting like this? Is the tranny bad? Does something need to by adjusted? I could use some help! Thanks!

 

You have lost the 3-4 clutch pack, time for a rebuild.
