converter selection
ok guys i am rebuilding everything, and i noticed i had a 3500 stall converter on my firebird, my setup is a 350 with about 340 hp, th-350 trans and stock firebird rear end gears(2.73/2.93) the car is full bodied wieghing in at 3600 lbs. the car is a weekend warrior, and sees some street use.
do you guys think i should go with a lower stall, im not sure if this is the cause of my 3rd gear being very sluggish
thanks for the help guys

You need gears. Your converter is probably OK.
At 3500 RPM in third gear your car will be going over 100 mph. Your converter never completely hooks in high gear. That's why it seems sluggish.
3.42 or 3.73 would make your car unrecognizable to the driver, it would be so much peppier.
