I'm buying this in a few hours IF it's worth it, but I don't want to waste 200 bucks. It's a 10 bolt 7.5 Posi disc out of a 86 iroc i think. I looked in my jegs and summit catalog and I don't see a whole lot of aftermarket stuff.
The guy says it has a little whine, and it's totally driveable, but should be rebuilt soon.
Anyone have any links for good aftermarket stuff?
It's a 3 series carrier.
Worth the money?

I'm up near waterloo and my Ford 9" is supposed to be done next Tues. Currently I have the 10 bolt with ALL new bearings, races, and seals throughout the entire rear, brand new brake shoes and all new brake hardware. Summit cast aluminum diff cover with preload bolts and new 75w-90synthetic fluid. 3.73 posi also. I am hoping to have it removed next weekend May 29 or 30th. $300 or offer. Oh, also has Spohn relocation brackets installed as well. All these parts have less than 1500 street miles and maybe 20 1/4mi. passes on them. Let me know if your interested. Price out all these parts I just listed and it's a very good deal ready to bolt in and go.

are you guys factoring in disc brake value?
I'm intrested in yours if it's disc. Would you take $250 What posi does it have, and what are the axles?
How's the aftermarket? I saw one aurburn (spelling?) setup, but I haven't seen much for axles, or disk upgrades.

This is a drum set-up, rear ends I've gone through 2drums and 2 disc. Personally I think the drums stop a heck of alot better than the discs ever did. It s Auburn 2 series carrier with spacer to fit the stock 3 series ring gear. If you wanted a new ping/pinion you'd just order the 3 series gear for a 2 series carrier and ommit the spacer.
As far as axles, not alot of parts are acutally listed in any of the speed part mag, but if you call them and ask for parts they have them.
If you want the disc brakes for custom rims to show off the set-up, this rear end is drum so it wont work. If your concerned about stopping, stick with drum. I tried all the know "fixes" to the disc brake delima with these cars and the drum type still out performed the disc's.
If you come and pick it up, it's your for $250. I've shipped out numerious items through frieght as far as blocks, trannies, and rears. Shipping is usually around the $100-150 mark. Now with fuel throguh the roof they're upping their fuel surcharge again so that price will undoubtedly go up as well.

If you want good rear discs, find a 1989 9-bolt with the 11.655 discs & PBR calipers. But if your in Iowa, the search is a little harder and you will have to look in larger area.
