U-Joint Removal Problems

any advice on how to get out u-joints without a vice or special tool? or an oxycetaline torch? and ideas would be really helpfull

Vice or a press.

I believe even the factory injected plastic retainers will require you to push things out with some good force.

Anything too unique in method and you might risk tweaking the yoke.

you'll need heat to get the factory plastic stuff out. other than that i use a bench vice and hammer.

i did it with a block of wood, some liquid wrench, a hammer, and a old taiwan socket. Thanks guys

ok i see there is some force required to get these things out however what is the procedure to get them out. try to tell it to someone that hasent a clue how to do it....which side do i try to press out and do i need to take those caps off one of the ends? i saw some type of metal clip too between the cap and ujoint, how o i get that off?

If you have clips, they're replacement u-joints. Lock ring pliers should get those out. Once you have those out, you press the joint to one side until the cap comes out, then press back the other way 'til the other cap comes out.
