Gears
Hey all,
I got a lead on some gears for my car. Right now I am running 2.73 pegleg. Found a guy selling 3.42 gears. He is asking $75 for them. I am thinking that this might be a good deal and I will most likely pick them up.
Here is the response.
Is my car a 7.5" ring. Its a stock TransAm. I wouldn't mind the extra launching power of the 3.42.
Please get back to me on this. Thanks.

Yes I do still have the gears and yes as far as I know they will fit your 88 so long as its a 7.5" ring gear which I think they all are but you could probably call the dealer with your serial number just to make sure
Please get back to me on this. Thanks.

Might want to try this. let me get this straight, you're doing a gear swap and yet you don't know what rear you have. if it's a 10 bolt it's a 7.5/7.62

Make sure the gears are designed for your series 2 carrier. If they are for the 3 series they wont work in your rear. Im not sure if the gears are used or not but i would never use used gears.
