I am buying gears and thoughy I might as well go ahead with the posi will this eaton posi work?

It would be the first, given 2 conditions:

1. You have 28-spline axles, or buy them at the same time; and
2. You have 3.23 gears or higher, or are installing them at the same time.

There's no way to know which axle splines you will have in a 89 car. Odds seem to be about 4 to 1 that they will be 26-spline. But the only way to know for sure is to take one out and count them.

In no case will the 8½" unit fit your car.

It doesn't care what trans you have.

Thanks yes the turbo 350 and driveshaft are going in and im getting 3:73 gears also snice im putting a new trans in i was wondering what kind of tourqe converter to put in and what kinda rpm stall

Well, a 350/400/Glide converter (duh), and whatever stall RPM your motor needs..... dyno it; get one that stalls 200-500 RPM below its torque peak; shift at the RPM such that after it has shifted into the next gear, the engine RPM is at the torque peak.

That was the factory rating and I know its 15 years old so its not gonna have what it used to also I have flowmaster mufflers and a Open Element Sry if im getting annoying lol I just want to make sure I get this all right So a 2200 rpm stall? I have to go to work ill be back at 12 and check back up on this and search around
