Speedo don't work (speed sensor?)

Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 4.10 Posi
Remove the speedometer cable at the transmission tailhousing, and see if it's good, you can attach a drill motor to the cable itself and spin it, and see if your speedo works. If it does, you have a speedometer gear problem inside the transmission. A common thing I see is the little clip that holds the plastic speedo gear in the trans coming off, which will cause the gear to move out of place and not work at all. hope that helps.
Thanks for the reply, but mine is electronic, not cable driven. And If I remove it and try your idea on the sensor shaft, I still wouldn't know if its a sensor failure or an electrical wiring problem.

im haveing the same problem in my 88 TA... i replaced both the sensor and the gear and i still dont have a speedo.... i think its something with the wires... but i dont know
