proper way to adjust detent cable?
hey guys i went to the tech articles and adjusted my detent cable like it told be to do and it shifts fine... but i hva e a friend that keeps sayi g that thirdgens way to do it is wrong because he has a 91 z28 with a350 tpi and his cable doesnt look like its out as far as mine... he is a simple minded moron that thinks he knows everything.... but any way is this sights way the right way. i pushed the thing all the way back to the mou ti g tab then held the throttle wide open and i herd the series of clicks like i was told i would and the it says i done after that.... it shifts fine i just making sure this is the right way..

Technical detail: It's a TV (throttle valve) cable, not detent cable. It does more than just downshift when you floor it (which is all a "detent" cable does).
Anyway, yes, that's the proper way to adjust it. Manufacturing tolerances will cause the cable to require different adjustment on different engine/transmission combos.
