Ebay and junk yards are pretty much the only place for 9-bolt carriers and gears. I got a 3.27 set off of ebay. There are some companies selling 3.73's for 9-bolt. they aren't that bad of a gear depending on what your looking for and your tranny type. Do you race or is it mostly daily driven. A 5 speed will love 3.73's but will work in an auto 700r4 fairly well. I might be doing this swap but later down the road.

Also, check classifieds on this site. A guy is selling some newer 3.70's gears sets. He has like 5 sets left. Yukon Gear brand for a $170 + shipping. Good stuff, I emailed him about it. You will need to find a carrier though. Reider Racing has the 3.73 gears and installation kits for 9-bolts.
Reider Racing

Good luck!

For a 9-bolt that would be 3.70's. I picked up a set for $170 (new) bucks from a shop down here in Dallas, TX.

Yeah thats what I been told that the gears will take a TPI out of the power band. 3.45 would be perfect but no one to my knowledge makes one. Reider racing should and I am surprised that there are alot of companies that make just 3.7x's for 9-bolts. Only 9-bolts used on TPI cars so they should make some new gears for the shorter powerband. Maybe they can custom make it, I may call reider soon to find out. I need new install kit for my 3.27s anyway so I will ask them.

Oh if you plan on modding the TPI system to a highflow system like super ram or anything to get more rpms out of it, then go 3.70s. It would work good for now until the motor is made. But only if you do plan on that, and if you dont do much highway or long term traveling at higher speeds.
