wow I'm so frustrated with that car right now I could rip it apart.

I took the old shift cable off without a problem. The new one...I started inside the car, I hooked the metal round part up to the shifter then put the next part through the metal crap...BUT THE RUBBER PART IS GOING TO MAKE ME GO CRAZY.........WHAT DO I DO????? I don't understand how the hell I'm supposed to fit the new rubber part through the little hole...are there any tips?????

I have a game in a few hours and I really need my car...somebody PLEASE help me!!!

It is a grommet and should have sort of a split around the edges. Just peel back a side of the grommet and just slip it in the hole and work it around until the whole is flush.

okay.....I found out that it's not the rubber part that holds the cable in place.....it's the tabs on the part above it in the console. now I have it secure and everything.....but my question is on the transmission where I hook up the one bolt to the little bar that shifts..........is PARK supposed to be towards the front of the car or the rear of the car? while I was undoing the screw to take the the old cable off, I turned it a few clicks on accident. so which position should I put it at so I can finish this crap?

trickster I love you

but seeing as I'm still a bit of a newbie, those instructions are a little confusing....

would you possibly be able to write up a idiot-proof way of doing it? lol.....the picture is kinda hard to follow.

I had to cut the tabs on the part above the rubber thing so it'd stay in the bracket.

What tabs did you cut? You shouldn't have had to cut anything. If you are talking about the piece that goes into the shifter assembly it pushes in from the front of the assembly and you are welcome for the directions.
