hey guys, my first day on the forum.Well i have a crazy combination that you guys probly havent seen before. I own an 85` camaro t~top car that i just fished putting a 6.2L diesel with a 700r4 in it. Some people probly think its dumb, but i bet im the only guy you know cruiseing down the interstate, t tops off gettin 32mpg`s in my 85 camaro. anyways my ? is my camaro is a factory spedo cable. the new tranny is electric spedo. i have 255/60/15 tires in the rear. with 3.42 gears. my question is when i do the conversion over to the cable type on the tranny, what two drive gears would get me close to right? I dont know anything about this part so any hlp would be great!

 

did your car come with a 700r4 originally?? if so did you try to swap the speedo/speed sensor from one trans to another??

 

yes the car was origanaly a 700r4. i bought the car from a family member and b4 i got it he had a th350 put in it. they threw away the old tranny that had all the pieces i needed. so i have to start completly from scratch.

Under the FAQ's. It says how to do it. If you already know your exisiting setup. I say get a setup on there. Then find out how much you are off. then you can use the area on the site to find out your exact gearing. You will need the 17-43 or 15-38 combination of the drive and driven gears. It will depend on which speedometer housing you have, the 34-39 or 40-45 housing.
