9 bolt borg-warner vs GM 10 bolt

I see lots of swaping of axles on here. I have a 9 bolt borg-warner g92 option housing with the G80 differential. My question is which is better and should i be swaping? I was under the impression that the 9 bolt was better as it is what they put in the WS6 and 1LE cars, which is what I have. I am wondering about this because I am in need of some service to my posi because GM told me my axles are locked together until they recive in execss of 60 lb of tourue difference between the two wheels, and I can get them to spin free at about 15 lb. any and all help is appreciated.

You probably just need to have the posi unit rebuilt. The 9 bolt is stronger than the 10 belt but the availability of parts makes it a bit of a pain in the butt.

I would suggest getting some quotes from different shops on a price for rebuild. While your at it you might as well replace the other seals and bearings because apparently when the posi unit wears out it leaves metal filings in the oil that ruins the bearings.

IIRC there is a nice write up in the FAQ section.
