tranny troubles

ok recently swapped out the lil 305 for a carb 350 and i used to original th700 tranny that was with the 305. my friend put the tranny on the motor and i was working on some wiring so i really wasnt paying attention to what he was doing. now the tranny wont even go into gear. i thought at first it could have been airlocked so i reved it up in gear and everything and still nothing. it does have the proper amount of fluid in it, could it be that he put the torque converter in wrong or somthing? im totally stumped on this, would tv cable being off have any effect like this? im open to any suggestions u guys might have, but i really hate to pull the tranny again seeing as how i jus got it in there, but ill do what it takes, lemme know what u all think bout my problem thanks, jon

I have an r4 in my 4x4, and forgot the tv cable. It still went in gear, it just did not shift. If the converter was not seated in the pump the whole way when he tightened the conv. bolts, firing the motor could have broke the ears off of the punp. If this is the case, the pump won't turn and you won't have any gears.

I dont think that your friend hooked the torgue converter back up to the flexplate. Double check this, because that is exactly what it sounds like.

Was the converter filled before it was installed?
