I just swapped a 700r4 from an 86 caprice into my 85 z28. at first the tranny shifted good, but now it slips out of od into 3rd once in a while. after it slips, all i have to do is give it some gas and it goes back into od for a while, but then slips again. the motor doesn't rev at all when it slips so the clutch band should be good right? i was told that there could be some metal shavings from the old tranny still in the cooler lines that are making there way into the valve body and causing the valves to mess up. can anyone help me out? i don't really want to rebuild the tranny until this winter when the car is parked if i don't have to.
