Yet another REAREND QUESTION "RATIO"

BEFORE I ASK, I WANT TO LET YOU GUYS KNOW THAT I DID LOOK AT MY RPO CODES AND I HAVE A 2.73 RATIO . I HAVE A 1991 FIREBIRD FORMULA. I HAVE A STOCK TBI 305. I WANT TO KNOW HOW LOW I CAN GO AS FAR AS A GEAR GOES. I CHECKED ALL THE ARCHIVES, AND ITS 50/50 WITH THE 3.27 GEAR AND THE 3.73. EVERY ONE EITHER SAYS THAT THE 3.73 IS WAY TO LOW AND I WILL FLY OUT OF THE POWERBAND TOO QUICK, OR THEY SAY THAT I WILL NOT NOTICE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MY 2.73 AND A 3.27. WHAT ABOUT A 3.42???

IM BUILDING A 383 BUT IT WILL NOT BE DONE FOR A WHILE, SO I WANT A GEAR THAT WILL BEEF UP THE STOCK 305 THAT WILL BE IN USE FOR A LONG TIME UNTIL IM DONE WITH THE 383.

BASICALY :
IS THE 3.73 TOO LOW?
WOULD I EVEN NOTICE A DIFFERENCE WITH A 3.27?
IS THE 3.42 THE WAY TO GO WITH THE STOCK 305?
WILL I HAVE TO CHANGE THE SPEDO GEAR?
MY GEAR NOW IS THE 2.73.

THANKS GUYS

I would go with the 3.73 and yes you will need to change the speedo gears to recalibrate the speedo.

You owe me two asprin too. Also, just leave the gears you have in there until the 383 is done. You can't gear for both at the same time without some serious compromise... assuming the 383 will be making decent power.

Oh yea, if you can't hit the Caps Lock, use the shift key.

edit:shiFt key. Forgot the 'f'.
