Please help me pick a converter

I've done a load of searches and I'm more confused than ever about torque converters. We are pretty close to having the necessary funds to complete our 305 to 350 swap in our 92rs.This is our setup:

350 bored 30 over 4bolt 70's block
Decent forged pistons 10to1-4 valve relief?
062 Vortec heads with Z-28 springs
Xtreme Energy Cam and Lifter Kit - Grind: XE274H ; Lift: Intake .487", Exhaust .490"; RPM Range: 1800-6000
Edlebrock RPM Vortec Intake
New timing chain/cover oil pump and oil pan and harmonic balancer
New Holley 670 street avenger
underdrive pulleys
Proform HEI
Stewart stage 2 pump

WE have already had the 700r tranny rebuilt about 6 months ago so it should be ok.The best I can tell from searching is we should have about a 2500 stall to make sure the car is streetable(daily driver).Does this sound right? We are ditching the computer and I've read about lock ups but don't fully understand them. But I do need a lock up converter right? and a lock-up kit? and a cooler for sure.I have about 300 to spend on a converter. Is this enough? I really can't afford those Vigilantes although I read where they are the best. Can I get a good deal on Ebay?....seems they have a bunch for like 150 dollars or so...these are probably junk I'm sure.Any specific recomendations?Thank you in advance

Call up a manufacturer that you choose to buy from. They should ask you a bunch of questions about your car. Then theyll recomend you a converter. No two cars or engines are the same so you best be is to put in what the manufacturer thinks you should use.

I put a 2200 stall converter in mine, but i also have no mods done to the motor. I think a 2200 - 2500 stall would fit your car well. But lie was metioned above whomever you call for the converter will ask ya abunch of questions. Reason i went with a 2200 is because the corvettes with the 700R4 used that so it was cheaper even with the lock up 80$$. Hope that helps somewhat

how much money are you wanting to spend on the convertor? a good convertor will cost around 600-700. call dana at probuilt automatics for a stall recomendation. he is conservative on stall speeds, but that isn't a bad thing, it just depends on what kind of driving you are going to do.

stall speed is based mainly off your .050 timing stats, weight of the car and gear. the more efficent convertor you have the lower rear gear you can use because of the tourqe multilplication.

it took me a long time to fully understand convertors, and there is a lot of BS out there that isn't true. a smaller 9.5 convertor is more effecient, creates less heat, less drivetrain stress, mulitpies more tourqe, and will stall quicker than a 12 or 11 inch convertor. convertor technology has came a long way in the past 10 years, that's why you can put a good convertor in a stock f-body and pick up .4-.5 tenths in the 1/4.
